January was a remarkable month for ECW Search, marking one of our busiest starts to a year in our history, setting the stage for an exciting 2025. Amidst the hustle, I had the joy of accompanying my youngest, Polly, to The Toy Fair (though, she was the one leading the way in the end!).
With my immense passion for the Toy industry, I've cultivated enduring relationships over the past 12 years within some of the most innovative, resilient, diverse, and people-centric companies I've encountered.

Despite facing challenges in recent times, the Toy industry thrives on the unwavering positivity exhibited by its professionals, a quality that continually inspires me & was on show again this year, in abundance.
In recruitment, discussions with job seekers and posts from Recruiters offering constant & frankly boring advice, often revolve around key motivators like, hybrid work setups, maintaining work-life harmony, progressive company cultures, top-notch training, enticing compensation packages, and shifts in management dynamics.
While all these aspects hold significance, let's not overlook the simple yet profound essence of LOVING WHAT YOU DO 😍 – the rest then naturally falls into place. It's no wonder the Toy industry boasts one of the lengthiest tenures in the commercial hiring landscape.
After all, who wouldn't cherish the opportunity to provide products that foster learning and development in children while ensuring they have a blast in the process? Polly is your customer...look at her face! 5.5 hours, 13k steps, some boring adult chat later & she was still smiling.
Yes of course we have opportunities across Sales, Marketing and Business Support in some of the worlds leading toy businesses.
But frankly, I just want to ask, are we focusing on the wrong motivators? - lets stop chasing and start looking at what is really important.
