This week, I had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with one of our fantastic, embedded clients, Jellycat. It got me thinking about just how much of an impact in-person meetings can have.
Here’s why I believe meeting your clients in person is not just important - it’s essential.
You Build Real Connections: It’s easy to chat online, but nothing beats the energy and authenticity of a face-to-face meeting. You connect on a more personal level, which naturally strengthens relationships. In person, it’s not just business—it’s human.
You Get True Insights: When you’re in your client’s environment, you see things you wouldn’t notice on a screen. From team dynamics to company culture, you get a fuller picture of their needs, allowing you to offer more precise and tailored solutions.
Creativity Flows: There’s something about being in the same room that makes ideas flow. Conversations move more freely, sparking creativity and new ways to tackle challenges that just don’t happen over virtual meetings.
It Shows Commitment: When you meet in person, you show your client that you’re invested. It demonstrates that you value the partnership and are willing to put in the time and effort to make it thrive.
Collaboration Becomes Effortless: The natural back-and-forth of an in-person chat often leads to faster decision-making and clearer action plans. It’s amazing how much smoother things go when you’re not worrying about a dodgy Wi-Fi connection or your dog and kids running around in the background!
Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand how meeting clients on-site can transform the recruitment process. In previous roles, I’ve been on the ground at companies like BT, Bolt, and Incubeta, and the results speak for themselves. By immersing myself in the client’s environment, I was able to gain deeper insights into their needs and work closely with hiring managers to streamline the entire recruitment process. This personal approach reduced the average time to hire to just 22 days, ensuring top talent was secured quickly and efficiently.
At Incubeta, this face-to-face collaboration led to 12 successful hires across multiple regions, from Spain and Italy to the US and Canada. Being on-site allowed me to fine-tune the candidate experience, ensuring that each hire was not only a perfect fit for the role but also aligned with the company’s culture and goals. Candidates felt more engaged and informed, resulting in a smoother, more transparent hiring process for everyone involved.
Meeting in person doesn’t just enhance the client experience—it elevates the entire recruitment journey for candidates too. The impact is clear: quicker decisions, better results, and stronger relationships!
